Buck Fire Evacuations October 14, 2017


An evacuation notice for a small amount of residents on four sections of private lands (Township 27 North - Range 11 West – Sections 10,11,12,13.) was issued on Saturday, for the west side of the fire due to an increase in fire activity. See purple highlighted areas located on enclosed map.

Planned Actions

All divisions will continue to strengthen and prep existing lines and are Continuing to use available air resources to keep fire in check.

Projected Incident Activity

The fire will not be staffed overnight. Fire spread will progress on the west and east sides of the fire.

Interior unburned islands are being consumed. Crews will continue to prep and hold containment lines on the west and east flanks of the fire area. Tactical firing may be necessary to stay ahead of the main fire and secure established containment lines.

Weather Concerns

Southwesterly winds strengthen yesterday ahead of a cold front causing spotting on the west side of the fire. Today light showers over the fire area with Another round of precipitation expected on Saturday. Drier weather will quickly begin to develop this with much warmer temperatures during to middle of next week.
