Location: Approximately 16 miles west of Wisdom, MT
Narrative: Both fires are burning in inventoried roadless areas in dead and down Lodgepole pine, subalpine fir and Spruce.
The Morgan was declared contained at 6:00 PM, August 4, 2017. Personnel are still on site finishing mop up work and walking grids in the unburned-green area checking for potential spots.
On the Butler fire, crews have dug hand lands around approximatly 75% of the main fire body. Spots have been put out up to 1/3 of a mile of the main fire. Helicpoters are still aiding with bucket drops and an infrared flight has been ordered for tomorrow night to check for hot spots.
1. Forest Service Road 624 (Gibbonsville Rd) from the intersection with Forest Service Road 944 to the Montana/Idaho Border;
2. Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDNST), from the intersection with Forest Service Trail 3002 in T5S., R17W., Section 32 to the Montana/Idaho border in T.5S., R18W, Section 1.
Additional closures were implemented on the Salmon-Challis NF to the west to ensure folks cannot access the fire area.
