The Devils Lake Fire was reported at 3 p.m. July 31, burning in sage brush, grass and timber. Initial attack gave way to a Type 3 Incident Management Team the same day. The Northwest 6 Type 2 IMT assumed command Wednesday, Aug. 2. Estimated containment is 8-7. Transition to Type 4 team planned for Tuesday 8-8 at 0600.

Low pressure system off of California has sent some moisture into the fire area, increasing the chance of precipitation and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy over the fire area in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures in the mid to upper 80's with RH 18-23%. Gusty and erratic winds near thunderstorms, otherwise 2-5 mph from the north/northeast.
