The Preacher fire is located in the Pine Nut Mountain Range about 4 miles southeast of the Lahontan Fish Hatchery in Douglas County, NV east of Highway 395.
The fire was started by lightning around 3:30 a.m. on July 24th. The fire is 5,333 acres and was burning in grass, brush and scattered Pinion Juniper and is now 100% contained.

The weather is getting hotter and drier. Winds will increase in the afternoon. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Temperature will increase to above normal. A slight decrease in storm activity early next week, but will increase later in the week.
