Firefighters are making good progress with line construction bringing containment to 40% of this 85 acre fire. Approximately 150 firefighters are on-scene. Several helicopters and retardant dropping fixed-wing aircraft including the DC-10 (VLAT) are assisting ground crews. The fire is currently holding in the retardant lines.
Evacuations: None at this time. If you are in the immediate area of this fire, please be vigilant and follow directions if asked to leave.
Road Closures: Highway 330 is open drivers should use caution. Fire equipment and personnel are working along the highway.
Drones: While there has been no drone activity over the fire, drones interfere with firefighting efforts. Any private aircraft or drone in the area should use caution when firefighting apparatus are working. Even without a TFR, anyone who hampers firefighting efforts could face criminal charges as well.
