Thursday, July 13 - 8:30 am update
Three hand crews and two engine crews will patrol the fire line and mop up today, systematically working along and near the perimeter to scrape off any embers, feel for heat, and pull unburned materials into areas clear of vegetation. Fire managers expect to be at 75% containment after today's work.
The fire will transition tomorrow from a Type 3 to a Type 4 incident. The majority of resources will be released and available for other incidents. The fire will continued to be monitored by one crew from Delaware and two engines from the Denver area.
Stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect for the White River National Forest, Bureau of Land Management-administered lands, and unincorporated and private lands in Rio Blanco County. Fire managers base decisions about fire restrictions on specific moisture measurements in vegetation and other risk factors such as predicted weather and the amount of current fire activity. No more regularly-scheduled Wilson fire information updates are planned for this site.
