Incident Overview

The Turkey fire, located approximately 35 miles north of Douglas near the Chiricahua Mountains, was started by lightning on the afternoon of June 24th. The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management with the assistance of federal agencies as well as local cooperators continues to suppress the fire. Forward progression of the fire has been stopped. Resources continue to secure fire perimeter and begin mop-up operations. No structures are threatened.
