Incident Overview

Jan. 22, 2017 at approximately 11:00 a.m. the Hopper Fire was reported off of County Road 406. Low relative humidity and high winds gusting to 50 mph caused the fire to spread rapidly. 44 agencies responded to the fire. At approximately 3:30 p.m. voluntary evacuations were issued for Los Cuates Rd because of expected fire direction. Evacuations were lifted around 5:00 p.m. as fire behavior diminished. During the first operational period crews had difficulty accessing the fire.
