The Douglas Fire was first reported on the afternoon of June 21, 2016. This lightning caused fire grew over June 22nd and June 23rd.

The Douglas Fire was contained on Saturday, June 25, 2016. It had grown to 2,000 acres before containment. Following two days of mop-up, the Incident Commander turned the fire area back over to Crook County and local landowners on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
