Incident Overview

The area closure has been lifted effective September 12 2013.

The Hardluck Fire was started by lightning on July 17 2013 deep in the Washakie Wilderness. When it was discovered on July 20 by a fire detection flight it was 2 to 3 acres in size. Rugged inaccessible terrain precluded sending crews in safely.

Fire acreage remains at approximately 24 648. This information will be updated when the situation changes.
