The Dollar Lake Fire was ignited during a lightning storm in the Mount Hood Wilderness on Friday, August 26, 2011.

Management objectives for the Dollar Lake Fire are:

  1. Provide for the safety of incident personnel and the public through the utilization of risk management processes.
  2. Keep fire outside the Bull Run Watershed management unit, minimize impacts to Hood River County lands, Cloud Cap, Tilly Jane Historic District, Longview Timber LLC industrial timber land, Bonneville Power Administration power transmission lines and other private land.
  3. Consider cost-effectiveness and efficiency in incident management activities.

Control Objectives for the Dollar Lake Fire are:

  1. Keep fire within existing containment lines.
  2. Provide for initial attack of all new fires occurring within the Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFR) on federal lands.
  3. Minimize suppression disturbances within the Mt. Hood wilderness area through the utilization of Minimum Impact Suppression Tactics (MIST).
  4. Implement actions identified in the Suppression Damage Rehabilitation Plan.
