News Release August 21, 2022

St John, WA - The Wagner Road Fire is located 12 miles west of St. John, WA. This fire started on Thursday, August 18th and has burned approximately 7,381 acres of rangeland, stubble and standing wheat.     Evacuations: There is currently no evacuations levels in place for the fire.

Saturday, Fire fighters made excellent progress in fire suppression of Wagner Road fire.  Control lines were completed around the fire with a dozer.  Fire fighters continued securing existing control lines.  Mop up of the fire perimeter continued and areas were patrolled for hot spots.  

Sunday, Fire fighters will continue mopping up the fire perimeter and patrolling for hot spots.   Unneeded resources will be released as the fire downsizes in staffing. 

Weather is expected to reach a high of 97 and a slight increase in wind speed from Saturday is predicted.
