 News Release September 6, 2022 Davenport, WA - The Seven Bays Fire is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Davenport, WA. This fire started on Sunday, September 4th and has burned approximately 1,000 acres of rangeland, stubble and scattered forest lands.   Acre increased is mostly due to updated mapping of the fire.    

 Evacuations: Level 3 which means GO:  Area that is within the following perimeter. 

·        North to Hume Road

·        West to Miles Creston

·        South to Reinbold Road

·        East to Hwy 25.

 

Level 2 which means GET READY: West of Hwy 25.  Starting at Reinbold road going North to Fort Spokane. 

 Road Closure:

·        Temporary closure of Miles-Creston road during the day.

·        Reinbold and Mule Ranch road open to local traffic only.

 Monday, Interior islands of unburn fuel in forested draws burned during the day making slope driven runs to the stubble fields on the plateau.   Fire fighters were able to keep the fire within the overall large fire perimeter.  Air resources were used during the day assisting fire fighters in firefighting efforts.  Firefighters have established containment lines around 90% of the fire perimeter with dozers, roads and plowed fields.  The fire is currently 0% contained.     

 Tuesday, Firefighter’s will continue to construct containment lines and reinforce existing containment lines.

 Fire Weather Watch in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening with primary concern for dry winds.
