Pine Pond Fire Update
August 14, 2022
8:00 p.m.

Size:
Estimated 700 acres
Containment: 50%
Start Date: August 11, 2022
Cause: Under Investigation

With the significant decrease in fire activity and an increase to 50% containment, this will be the last planned update. We will provide updates on this Facebook page as notable activity occurs moving forward. This includes changes to containment and fire behavior.

Over 100 resources are working on the fire. Firefighters will continue to patrol for hotspots and conduct mop-up operations over the upcoming days. There has been no growth for three (3) days.

Texas A&M Forest Service is working closely with Bastrop County and other partner agencies to meet the objectives for suppression repair and reaching 100% containment.

Texas Department of Public Safety, in coordination with Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), conducted an aerial recon mission with a drone on Sunday evening. Data from this flight will assist firefighters in locating pockets of heat both along the fire perimeter and within the interior.

We would like to thank the community for your continued support and patience throughout this incident.
