Fire crews are back out on the fire this morning to continue suppression efforts. Retardant lines dropped yesterday have held throughout the night. In addition to TAMFS, TIFMAS, and aviation resources, the Lakeview MOD handcrew arrived yesterday to provide additional support. Today, crews will continue to knock down hot spots close to the fire perimeter and utilize aviation resources as needed.

Fire Weather: WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING...Gusty west winds continue this morning and a Wind Advisory will be in effect for the Davis Mountains and surrounding Foothills now through this evening. As 20ft winds increase throughout the day, humidity will drop to around 20 percent. Given that fuels remain critically dry, a Red Flag Warning has been issued for late this morning through this evening in the vicinity of the fire. Overnight recovery will be poor to fair and humidity will fall below 15 percent once again on Thursday. There will finally be a break in the stronger winds Thursday morning and winds will shift out of the north. 20ft winds will remain light throughout the day on Thursday shifting slowly from northerly to more easterly.
