Night shift firefighters focused much of their work on the southeast portion of the fire. With dozers, crews worked to reinforce containment lines across the area. Engine crews continued to patrol the fire area and were engaged in mop up operations.

Today, crews will reinforce containment lines where needed, working to widen those lines with dozers and ensure they are secure. Handcrews will work in the southeast portion of the fire as well as the northern edges where they will build handline where heavy equipment cannot access. The goal is to connect portions of line constructed by dozer with the newly-built portions of handline.

More than 240 state and local fire resources continue to focus on life safety of both the public and first responders, the protection of critical infrastructure and suppression actions.

There is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) in place for the area over the Dempsey Fire [NOTAM: FDC 2/4320, https://bit.ly/39WBOwo]. Please avoid the area to provide a safe environment for firefighting aircraft.
