WATCH FOR FIRE TRAFFIC: As you begin your Labor Day holiday weekend, remember you are sharing the road with wildland fire crews in the area. We ask everyone to slow down, particularily along Highway 138, and be vigilant to keep the community and our firefighters safe. 
RED FLAG WARNINGS: Red flag warnings today across the area. Winds SW 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon. Temperatures in the high 80's to 90 degrees and critically low humidity. A cold front comes in on Friday evening from the WNW bringing a 5-10% of rain through Saturday morning, with clearing skies by noon Saturday.
Big Swamp Fire: Sprinklers systems installed along the 2153 road have cooled down areas of concern in the interior of the fire. Crews will begin moving materials, while road graders and masticators continue suppression repair work on H-70.
Potter Fire: Firefighters continue to hold and improve lines while crews chip fuels and grading continues on the area roads.
Camel Hump Fire: Local firefighter resources will continue to patrol the area.
Windigo Fire: Crews have been making good progress on fire suppression repairs along roads and dozer lines. Firefighters will continue to patrol the area and mop up any sources of heat that are a threat to control lines.
Resources: 13 hand crews, 9 engines, 2 dozers, 20 water tenders, 1 helicopters 1 skidder, 1 masticator. Total personnel 456. 
Closures: The Pacific Crest Trail is open. The Deschutes and Umpqua National Forests (NF) has fire closures around the Windigo fire.The Willamette National Forest reduced fire closures around the Big Swamp Fire, opening many roads south of Diamond Drive (Forest Road 21). To provide for public and firefighter safety, the Umpqua NF issued a closure for the Camel Hump Fire. FIRE RESTRICTIONS: Campfires in designated campgrounds or picnic areas only, in fixed permanent metal fire pits. Open fires are not allowed in dispersed campsites. Check the Willamette and Umpqua National Forest websites for specific public use fire restrictions.
