Rum Creek Fire evening highlight for Saturday, September 10th

Rum Creek Fire
Publication Type: News 10/26/2022

Evening Highlight

As of Saturday, September 10, the Rum Creek fire remains at 21,347 acres with a jump to 69 percent containment. The Heat Advisory and Red Flag Warning for Josephine County end Saturday evening at 8:00pm and 11:00pm respectively. Weather later this week is anticipated to be much cooler with higher relative humidity. This cooler weather will aid efforts to further contain the fire. While evacuation orders for Josephine County were recently decreased, the public is reminded roads into these areas remain closed. Only residents with proper identification will be allowed beyond roadblocks. East of the fire, road closures include Lower Grave Creek Road, Quartz Creek Road, and Galice Road at Hog Creek Road. South of the fire, a road closure is on Galice Road at Peavine Road. West of the fire, Bear Camp Road is closed.
