Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Wildcat Initial News Release 

 

 


Elko, Nev., July. 15, 2022 – The Wildcat Fire started on July, 13, 2022 approximately 40 miles North of Wells NV. The fire has experienced hot, dry, and windy conditions since it began. A Type 3 Incident Management Team has taken over the fire. Currently the fire has burned 14,500 acres and is 10% contained. The fire is burning in brush and grass. Crews, Engines, Equipment and Aircraft have been working diligently to suppress the fire. Personnel working on the fire have been facing extreme fire behavior and rugged conditions.

10 Engines

3 Dozers

3 Tenders

226 Total Personnel
