Clover Fire Update August 7, 2022

Clover Fire
Publication Type: News 08/07/2022

Note:  For the near future, fire behavior is anticipated to be low.  Updates will no longer be completed daily.  The next update will be prepared when a significant change occurs.

Yesterday’s Operations: Firefighters patrolled and monitored the fire perimeter to ensure it stayed within constructed containment lines.  One tenth of an inch of rain fell on fire.  Today’s Operations:  Firefighters will patrol and monitor the fire perimeter to ensure it stays within constructed containment lines.  Firefighters will also work on the suppression repair objectives. Strategy: The fire is currently being managed under a confine/contain    strategy due to fuel conditions, geographic location and values at risk.  The objective is to contain fire in the Middle Fork Warm Springs Creek drainage, utilizing fuel type changes, natural breaks and burnout operations. Weather: Today will be mostly sunny, with temperatures between 63 and 68 degrees, minimum humidity between 16 and 21 percent and West winds 5-9 mph. A period of warming and drying will begin Sunday, with temperatures reaching well above normal values both Monday and Tuesday. With high pressure strengthening over the fire during this time, expect steadily drying RH values and increasingly poor recoveries each night. Tuesday is expected to be the hottest and driest day during this stretch, accompanied by southerly winds. Showers and T-storms return Wed and remain in the forecast period.   Safety of firefighters and the public are the highest priorities for incident management.  An area Closure Order remains in effect until October 30, 2022 or until rescinded, and can be viewed at the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest webpage: https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/bdnf/alerts-notices.
