Highlights: Management of the River Complex is now under the direction of California Interagency Incident Management Team 2; Nickie Jonny, Incident Commander. The team is working in conjunction with CalFire, the California Office of Emergency Services, and multiple cooperating agencies. Firefighters were able to gain ground on the River Complex, due to increased moisture from the rain, which fell Thursday evening. However, vegetation is starting to become more dry and fire activity will increase.

Fire Activity: Due to steep terrain, crews are utilizing natural rock formations, existing road networks, and burn scars from previous fires to contain the fire’s progression. In the northeastern area of the Haypress Fire, dozers and hand crews are working to contain spot fires which occurred near Craggy Peak. The decreased fire activity has allowed crews to begin scouting new contingency lines south of the community of Callahan. Helicopters are conducting air water drops to contain spotfires near Callahan as visibility permits. In the southeastern fire perimeter, crews are conducting direct fire suppression operations north and south of Coffee Creek.

Evacuations: Evacuation orders and warnings have been issued for Siskiyou and Trinity Counties.
