2023 BDF Planned Projects

Below are current planned fuel treatment projects occurring across the San Bernardino National Forest (BDF). These projects will be updated, and additional projects could be added as planning is completed.

Front Country Ranger District

  • Angelus Oaks Prescribed Burn near the Community Angelus Oaks: Understory burn
  • Banning Prescribed Burn near Banning: Pile burns approximately 9 acres
  • Mill Creek Prescribed Burn near Mentone: Pile burns approximately 21 acres
  • City Creek Prescribed Burn near Highland: Pile burns approximately 25 acres
  • Del Rosa Prescribed Burn near Del Rosa Community: Pile burns approximately 25 acres

Mountaintop Ranger District

  • Grass Valley Prescribed Burn near Grass Valley Lake: Pile Burn approximately 100 acres
  • Baldwin Lake Project near Baldwin Lake just east of Big Bear approximately 70 acres
  • Fawnskin Prescribed Burn near Discovery Center and the district office approximately 15 acres

San Jacinto Ranger District

  • Cranston Reforestation Prescribed Burn near Southeast Mountain Center: Pile Burn approximately 50 acres
  • Cranston Station Prescribed Burn near Hwy 74 west of Hemet: Pile burn approximately 5 acres
  • Alandale Prescribed Burn near Hwy 74 Pine Wood: Pile burn approximately 15 acres
  • Kenworthy Prescribed Burn near Garner Valley: Pile Burn approximately 10 acres
  • Thomas Mountain Prescribed Burn near Garner Valley and Little Thomas Mountain Campground (currently monitoring weather in the area)
