9-1-22 Thursday 0700 update The Double Creek Fire burned very actively during the night, and is estimated to be about 1500 acres this morning, and it is expected to burn very actively today also. The Wallowa County Sheriff has issued a change in the evacuation levels for the Double Creek Fire area.  Beginning September 1, 2022 at 6 am, the current evacuation levels are:
 BAKER CITY, Ore. (September 1, 2022) – The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest will be hosting a public meeting in response to the Wallowa-Whitman Wildfires on September 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Joseph Community Center in Joseph, OR.
