As of 9/5/2022 the fire activity has picked up since the last rain event, particularly on the western flank of the fire in the bowls under Swan Peak. As of 9/8/2022, the fire crossed Cannon Creek on the south side of the fire and is burning into the 2001 Cannon Fire burn scar. As of As of 10/04/2022, no significant observable growth has been detected.

The Spotted Bear Ranger District will continue to monitor fire activity, with reconnaissance flights as resources allow. Potential threats to values will continually be assessed. A point protection strategy and checking actions, where safe and effective, will be implemented as needed. There is a significant fire history in the surrounding area that will affect fire spread.
