On Friday, October 2, the District Office assumed command of the fires that made up the Fork and the South Complexes. The portion of the Johnson and Pickett Fires that are on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest are also being managed at the local level. Crews are currently patrolling and mopping-up.

Please remember that interior smokes will continue to appear on all fires and may be visible from Hayfork and surrounding areas, and from various roads. Firefighters are still patrolling the area and are taking care of any potential threat to containment lines.

A forest closure order is still in effect for both the Fork and South Complexes. Ongoing assessments of fire conditions have enabled the reduction of the closure areas. The full Fire Closure Order Number 14-15-07 can be accessed at http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3855017.pdf.

This will be the last update for the Fork Complex. For additional fire information, please contact the Hayfork Ranger Station at (530) 628-5227.
