The Willow Fire transitioned to a Sierra National Forest Type 4 organization.
Crews will continue to patrol all parts of the fire. The fire continues to cool, but some areas may still produce smoke for several more days.
The Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team assessment is awaiting approval for implementation. For more information about the BAER Team contact Alan Gallegos BAER Coordinator at 559-877-2218 ext. 3100.
Gaggs, Whiskers, and Whiskey Falls campgrounds are now open. Please review new Forest Order No. 15-15-10 for road closures. The document is located on the MAPS tab. Look for the 15-15-10 documents.
One Less Spark – One Less Wildfire
Whether working to create defensible space around your home, just mowing the lawn, or pulling your dirt bike over to the side of the road, if you live in a wildland area you need to use all equipment responsibly. Lawn mowers, weedeaters, chain saws, grinders, welders, tractors, and trimmers can all spark a wildland fire. Do your part, the right way, to keep your community fire safe.
