Incident Overview

This will be the final update of the Mottled Duck fire.

The fire started on August the 18 by lightning strikes from a storm system that moved through the Sabine National Wildlife Refuge.

Another storm system moved through the area again yesterday afternoon dropping 0.36" of rain in an addition to the 0.05" of rain the previous day, which aided firefighters in containing the fire. The fire is now 100% contained and the demob process will begin tomorrow.
