The Hansel Creek Fire is located approximately 10 miles south of Leavenworth, WA. The Pacific Northwest Incident Management Team 2 assumed command of the fire Aug 10 and is also managing the Duncan Fire and the Chiwaukum Complex located in the Leavenworth/Wenatchee areas.

The Chiwaukum Complex includes the Chiwaukum, Shoofly, Mills Canyon, Kelly Mountain, and Alpine Fires.

Significant Events

Slightly cooler and lighter winds today. Limited fire activity with isolated interior creeping and smoldering on the fire today with no perimeter movement.

Outlook

Planned Actions

Provide resources ready to initiate initial attack on new starts from lightning. Continue patrol and monitoring operations. Continue identifying and cataloging rehab needs. Transition to the Type 3 Team occured at 0600.

Projected Incident Activity

12 hours: Slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms and overnight precipitation. Limited fire activity with isolated interior creeping and smoldering on the fire with no movement or fire spread.

24 hours: 50% chance of precipitation with a Flash Flood Watch in affect through tomorrow evening. Remaining hot spots are interior with creeping and smoldering. No fire spread expected

Remarks

The new team is also managing the Duncan Fire and the Chiwaukum Complex.

Today was cooler with highs in the high 70s and humidity down to 30%. Winds were gusting to 20 mph out of the WSW. Tomorrow's forecast is for cooler temperatures with the highs in the mid 70s and minimum humidity down to 30% with winds mainly upslope/up valley 5-10 mph with gust to 10 mph.
