This is the last news release for the Little Deer Fire. Please call the district office (530-398-4391) if you have questions about the fire. A core group of firefighters and support personnel will stay on to continue with fire-suppression repair.
Vehicle traffic along Highway 97 in the fire area remains a significant risk to the firefighters working there. Please slow down, limit distractions, and help keep our firefighters safe when you are driving through the area.

Smoldering. Lightning occurred near the fire area, causing personnel to cease operations temporarily.
Secure the control lines. Support the local district with IA. Continue repair of fire suppression activities. Prepare for transition of fire operations to a IMT4.
