SOUTHWEST OR - The Labrador Fire is smoldering in an area south and west of the Illinois River in inaccessible country 30 miles southwest of Grants Pass Oregon.
The Fire remains the only large fire in Oregon with zero percent containment because of terrain and snags from previous fires and its remote location. Firefighters continue to monitor the fire in order to respond to any flare-ups that may occur on the fire or new fire starts in the area. One helicopter remains available to respond if needed.
A season ending event will provide the moisture needed to control the fire.
The Illinois River road is open to public use.
