Incident Overview

The Prison Fire, near the old prisoner of war camp in the Santa Catalina Mountains, is 100% contained this morning. The fire began with a lightning strike the evening of June 30th. Fire fighters from the Santa Catalina District of the Coronado National Forest will continue to monitor the fire perimeter to insure it is secure over the next week. The fire burned a total of 270 acres of grass and brush.
