Since fire officials declared containment Monday, July 1st, there has been neither new fire growth nor significant smoke within the perimeter of the Thompson Ridge Fire. Substantial rainfall within the perimeter has contributed to the suppression of the fire. Therefore fire officials have declared the Thompson Ridge Fire 100 percent controlled and 100 percent contained. Valles Caldera fire officials will continue periodic aerial and lookout tower monitoring until the fire is officially declared extinguished. This is the final update of the Thompson Ridge Fire which is now inactive.
