Incident Overview

The Highway 141 fire is located along the east side of Hwy. 141, approximately 2 miles north of White Salmon, Washington. The fire started at approximately 1:30pm on Wednesday, Sept. 5th. The fire is currently approximately 1,644 acres and is considered 85% contained. 100% containment is expected at the end of today's shift.

No Level 3 or Level 2 evacuations remain.

Crews made good progress in securing containment lines, mop up, and rehab of suppression activities yesterday. Today hand crews and engine crews will continue mop up and rehab activities, and will continue to monitor structures. Full mop up is occurring within 100 feet of the fire line and, as necessary, around structures. On the interior of the fire, some smoke will likely remain visible - and on occasion even some active fire behavior like torching of single trees may be noticed - until some significant precipitation occurs. Continued demobilization of resources will occur today and Wednesday morning. Management of the fire will transfer to a smaller, Type 3 organization at 0600 Wednesday morning,.
