Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Wildcat Updated News Release  

Elko, Nev. July. 20, 2022 –
Wildcat Fire Status Update – The fire size remains at 21,429 acres and is 98% contained. The crews and resource specialists working the fire are from multiple agencies and have been doing an incredible job!
Fire behavior characteristics observed were minimal with smoldering. There was little to no visible smoke on the fire today. The fire showed no additional growth. 
No structures have been damaged, and no injuries have been reported at this time. Crews are finishing the mop up of the interior heat and have completed suppression repair work. Nevada Team 3 will transition the fire to the local district tomorrow morning. 
The incoming Incident Commander will keep 3 Engines and 1 Helicopter attached to the fire.
