Eneas Peak Fire Update August 28, 2022

Eneas Peak Fire
Publication Type: News 08/28/2022

District Fact Sheets will be provided if a significant event occurs.

Location: Selkirk Mountains – north/northwest of Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Yesterday, the Eneas Peak fire received water drops along the eastern flank to help hold it in check in the nearby drainage. Overnight, the Trout Fire had no growth, Eneas Peak grew 6 acres, and Russell Mountain increased by 13 acres which was mostly updrainage. All fires continue to remain in a contain and confine management strategy and will receive air support as needed. Today, the weather will be sunny with cool temperatures in the mountains and little wind. A high-pressure ridge will be building into the region leading to a warm, dry week ahead.

Closures: Please avoid the Ball Creek Road (FSR 432), the Trout Creek Road (FSR 634), and trails due to fire suppression activities and active fires.    These trails include: · Russell Mountain (No. 12), Russell Ridge (No. 92) · Ball & Pyramid Lakes (No. 43), Pyramid Pass Trail (No. 13), Pyramid Peak (No. 7) · Fisher Peak (No. 27) · Trout Lake (No. 41)
